Momentum Internship
In the nearly four years that 3D has been in operation, young men have come and gone. We are realizing that the transition from program life to real life can be challenging. In an effort to fill the gap and make the transition smoother, “sometimes you need a little momentum”.
Today’s leaders do well with what they have; however many lack character in the following areas:
• Integrity
• Leadership
• Management skills
• Excellence
• Understanding skills and talents
• Understanding of God’s word
We believe the Momentum internship will propel its’ participants into their purpose, whatever that may be. We offer two different types of study.
Media
Our media internship focuses primarily on a multimedia and marketing. If you look around, most young people today surround themselves with the internet, music, and movies. Most of the information a young person will receive during the most influential years of their life will come from these sources.
Our goal with the media internship is to establish values that will help our students navigate these media sources with integrity, and hopefully equip them to provide multimedia materials that exemplify a right set of values and a Three Dimensional lifestyle.
Media interns will produce and design all of 3D’s marketing and advertising material. They learn both Macintosh and PC computer platforms with industry-related software such as Adobe Creative Suite software, which includes Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. For video production, programs such as iMovie and Final Cut will be used. The interns are trained with industry standard equipment like MacBook Pros, Canon Digital Cameras, and DV Video Cameras.
In today’s world, it won’t matter if these young men choose a business career in media, to be self-employed, or go into ministry, they will need these basic media skills to make themselves more marketable.
Ministry
Our ministry internship is designed to provide experience for young men who have either gone through our program at 3D or life experiences that have led them to a place where they need time with God to discover their purpose. We provide an experience in leadership that will reveal their gifts and talents, hone their strengths, and hopefully make plain their God-given purpose in the kingdom.
Some of these experiences will include:
•Live in close quarters with the guys in the program, and provide
accountability.
•Mentor the guys in the program.
•Plan events that involve groups such as CBA’s, outings, and program events.
•Organize and assist in hosting marketing events such as banquets and fundraisers.
Hopefully after accomplishing their internship objectives, each intern will have a definitive direction or call and the experience to know how to count the cost of following Jesus in that calling.
